The State of Alaska DOT & PF Plant Materials Center Addition (Palmer SEED Lab) project won the 2006 Honor Award for Excellence in Architecture from the AIA Alaska Chapter – the state’s top honor. BDS provided programming, planning, design, and construction support services for a 4,800 SF addition to the existing Plant Materials Center facility, which contains a small lot seed cleaning room, combined training and break room, public lobby, reception, Director’s office, new ADA toilet facilities, equipment storage, 2nd floor HVAC, and a heating plant room. Work also included renovation of 2,420 SF and 780 SF of additions to the Plant Introduction Building due to condition, energy conservation, code, ADA or program needs.
