U.S. Coast Guard Housing

Cordova, Alaska

enter site BDS designed housing for U.S. Coast Guard service members in Cordova to accommodate 13 new duplex housing units on a wetlands site. The design of the LEED Silver-certified dwelling units accounted for ongoing habitation of the 40-year-old existing housing units and support utilities that would be demolished later, during a phased construction process.

A large, covered play structure near the center of the homes provides an outdoor play area for children, sheltering them from 160 inches of annual rain and snowfall.
