Chugiak High School Renovation

get link BDS programmed and designed this award-winning, multi-phase renovation, transforming a traditional 1960s suburban high school into a learning facility for the 21st century. Our work included major additions and renovations to the gymnasiums and cafeteria, the Jr. ROTC facilities, and the science, performing arts, and fine arts departments. The master planning for this large site, as well as planning for the sequential renovation of major portions of the school while sustaining core programs for over 2,000 students, was of critical importance to the client and our team.

trade4 me To complete the renovation, BDS designed the Vocational Education Department addition, an educational shop facility within the school. The new department is equipped with a wood shop, automotive repair shop with engine removal lift, electronics shop, audio/video studio, Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) department, and welding shop with individual, ventilated, and fire-protected welding booths.
